I am fortunate enough to be working in my "dream job" as a high school counselor. After graduating from college with a major in Psychology and minors in Philosophy and Sociology, I moved to the San Francisco Bay area and worked with youth from preschool through age 13 in schools and realized that I loved the educational setting. I moved back to Seattle to attend the UW School of Social Work, and earned my MSW and an ESA in School Social Work. I was a contracted therapist in an alternative high school before joining a UW longitudinal study as part of the clinical team working with youth and families and the public school staff involved with the students. It was during this job that I realized being a school counselor would be a perfect role for me. When the project ended, I landed a job at Ingraham and am still loving it here! I earned my school counseling certification at Seattle University, but appreciate the background that my MSW provided, as well. I love working with high school students and love the range of advocacy, guidance and counseling that I get to provide. I am inspired by our students on a regular basis - their passions, activism, intellectual curiosity, resilience, and incredible growth during high school. Our diverse campus is a special place and there are amazing things happening here. I feel very lucky to be a part of this "well-kept secret"! Besides the time I spend at Ingraham, I love to be a mom to my daughter, run, play soccer, hike, and read.
